Our journey continues as we discover hidden gems within Meskendir Valley. We meet our professional tour guide at the hotel and set off on an adventure filled with fascinating stories. Then, we head to Paşabağ for incredible photo opportunities. Continuing our journey to Zelve, another remarkable part of this open-air museum, we will discover an ancient settlement carved into the rocks and explore cave dwellings from as early as the 9th century. Afterward, we savor local dishes in Avanos and experience pottery-making underground. Dreaming up new adventures in Devrent Valley. After a short break in Devrent, we drive a 15-minute, hike through Meskendir Valley—a shaded trail taking us through ancient cave dwellings and intriguing mini tunnels. Completing our hike in Çavuşin reveals its unique scene of rugged cliffs and abandoned houses; this area unfolds like a labyrinth. IHLARA VALLEY - GUZELYURT - UNDERGROUND CITY - ASIKLI HOYUK
The underground city exudes a dramatic ambiance, Ihlara Valley offers a picturesque hike along the river, while Güzelyurt is known for its delicious local cuisine in a historic setting. Asikli Höyük is one of the earliest settlements where humanity transitioned from nomadic life to village living. We are beginning an exciting journey with an early start due to our long transfer. Our first stop is the serene and seldom-visited Underground City. This fascinating site served a different purpose; with its large halls numerous rooms, and the underground church. The main entrance has been demolished, so the halls are accessed through a 50 -55-meter passage. And, we continue our journey towards Ihlara Valley, one of the most popular hiking trails in Cappadocia. Surrounded by intriguing natural formations and green valleys dotted with Orthodox churches, this town exudes historical charm. Also, the trail provides stunning natural scenery as we walk alongside the river for around 7 kilometers, which takes about 2.5 hours at a leisurely pace. We head to Güzelyurt for lunch. Güzelyurt – formerly known as Karballa – will transport you back in time with its tranquil, traditional, and nostalgic atmosphere. One such church now serves as a mosque and stands as one of Central Anatolia's earliest masonry-built churches. Following lunch at a Turkish family’s restaurant where we will be treated like guests in their home, we continue our journey toward Aşıklı Höyük. Here you'll encounter replicas that recreate ancient life in the region; in fact, one of history's earliest examples of brain surgery was discovered here in 1989. (10,500-years old settlement) http://www.asiklihoyuk.org This promises to be a truly unique experience!
